A grand assortment of classic cars will be hitting the road again when Tour de Cebu revs up this Oct. 14–16! The rally, inspired by the popular Mille Miglia which goes around the roads of Italy, continues to grow bigger in its third iteration. “In the first Tour de Cebu, participants felt very challenged, and they enjoyed it so the word spread. And we got more entries in second edition,” said Chris Tui of the Performance and Classics Enthusiasts of Cebu (Pace). A handful of prominent figures set to join are actors Matteo Guidicelli, Dominic Ochoa, as well as James Deakin, a known motoring show host. This year's Tour de Cebu will also be driving across parts of Cebu with the addition of Bohol during the three-day rally.

The race is set within several routes that span across its various locations (Cebu and Bohol) which the participants must make their way through without a proper map of the route. Which means getting lost is a real possibility. They are instead handed with rally maps which documents the whole point. Where the bridges are, where to slow down and the what are traffic obstructions. Speeding your way through is not a viable option either as there are ideal times that are set for each checkpoint. For example, reaching point A to point B must be achieved in 20 minutes. If your arrive 16 minutes, you will be penalized four minutes. If you arrive 25 minutes, you will be penalize for every minute over. It goes both ways because they do not condone over-speeding and breaking traffic rules. The car with the lowest penalty score will then be declared the winner.

Another point the organizers want to get across is that the event will not only exhibit the classic cars in participation, but as well as the scenic places that the participants will be visiting. “It is a touristic run. One of the goals is to highlight the beauty of the Visayan islands. The first two Tour de Cebu, we went to Negros, Dumaguete, Bacolod and San Carlos where there were beautiful coastal mountain roads. Now we’re going to Bohol. The idea here is we’re gonna bring out the beauty of the islands and as well as the safety of driving in the islands,” said Tui.

The event, organized by the Performance and Classics Enthusiasts of Cebu (Pace) in cooperation with the Manila Sports Car Club (MSCC), was launched last September 23, 2016 at the Sky Hall of SM Seaside City Cebu.
